Nasdaq Futures Opening Update as on 24 September 2018

U.S. stock futures lower  in pre-market trading for Monday, September 24.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,523.25  with  a loss of -0.36% percent or -27.25 point.The Dow Futures is trading at 26,723.00  with  a loss of -0.12% percent or  -31.00 point.The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,929.50  with  a loss of -0.14% percent or -4.00 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 23,869.93 up with +0.82% percent or +195.00 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,472.22  with a loss of – 1.72% percent or  -481.36 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,797.48  up with +2.50% percent or  +68.24 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 36,307.48 with  a loss of -1.45% percent or -534.12 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,473.09  with a loss of  -0.23% percent or -17.14  point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,386.99  with  a loss of -0.35% percent or  -43.89 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,483.01   with a loss of -0.20% percent or  -11.16 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 383.36  with  a loss of  -0.24% percent or  -0.98  point.

Monday’s Factors and Events

On Monday, a 10 percent U.S. levy on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods came into effect. The 10 percent rate is also set to rise to 25 percent by year-end. China has retaliated, targeting duties on more than 5,000 American goods worth a total of $60 billion.

The moves in the premarket come after the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 hit record highs during the previous session on Friday.

In the corporate space, investors will likely be digesting the news that Comcast outbid Twenty-First Century Fox on Saturday in a $39 billion takeover of U.K. broadcaster Sky, submitting a much higher bid in a three-round auction. On Monday, the U.K. broadcaster recommended its shareholders to accept an offer from Comcast.
