Oil prices declined on Wednesday, following discussions between the U.S. and Iran at the United Nations conference, amidst President Trump’s threat to “annihilate” the Middle Eastern nation. U.S. benchmark West Texas Intermediate prices experienced a decline of 0.8%, settling at $89.75 a barrel in recent trading. Meanwhile, Brent crude futures, serving as the international benchmark, saw a decrease of 0.2%, priced at $99. The 10-year Treasury yield, a critical benchmark for various interest rates such as mortgages, corporate bonds, and other loans, was recorded at 4.96% in recent trading, reflecting a decrease of one basis point from Tuesday’s close.
