Nasdaq Futures Opening Update as on 07 February 2018

U.S. stock futures are mixed in pre-market trading for Wednesday, February 07. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,603.75  with a loss of -0.75% percent or -50.00 point.The Dow Futures are trading at 24,582.00  with a loss of -0.88% percent or -218.00 point. The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,670.50 with a loss -0.88% percent or -23.75 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 21,645.37  for up with +0.16% percent or +35.13 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 30,403.43   with a loss of -0.63% percent or -191.99 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,309.26 with a loss  -1.82% percent or -61.39 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 34,230.90 for up with +0.10% percent or  +34.96  point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,195.20 for up with +0.75% percent or  +53.80 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,468.69 for up  with +0.61% percent or  +76.03 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,197.37 for up  with +0.69% percent or +35.57 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 375.79 for up  with +0.83% percent or +3.16 point.

Wednesday’s Factors and Events

After two huge sell-offs in a row, U.S. stocks were all over the map on Wednesday. Investors blamed the wild moves on a combination of interest-rate fears, computer-driven trading and the obscure volatility funds that use leverage.

The Dow Jones industrial average opened with a big whoosh lower, then rallied all the way back. The Dow closed 567.02 points higher at 24,912.77 and rose as much as 600.48 points. At its session low it was down by 567.01 points. It traded in a range of 1,167.49 points. DowDuPont was the best performer on the Dow, rising nearly 6 percent.

Tuesday’s Activity

U.S. market were higher on Tuesday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 24,912.77 for up with +2.33% percent or +567.02 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,695.14  for up with +1.74% percent or  +46.20 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 7,115.88  for up with +2.13% percent or  +148.36 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at  1,507.17 for up with +1.08% percent or +16.08  point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 918.41  for up with +1.06%  percent or +9.67  point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 21.62  for up with +0.79% percent or  +0.17 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,194.49   for up with +1.93% percent or +22.64 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,589.78  for up with +1.61% percent or  +25.12 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,491.15 for up  with +1.65% percent or +24.17 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 24,912.77  for up with +2.33% percent or  +567.02  point.
