Nasdaq Futures Opening Update as on 27 February 2019

U.S. stock futures lower  in pre-market trading for , February 27.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,095.75 with a loss of -0.31% percent or -22.00 point.The Dow Futures is trading at 25,944.50  with a loss of -0.36% percent or -92.50 point.The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,782.38 with a loss of  -0.33% percent or -9.12 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,556.51 up  with +0.50% percent or +107.12 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,762.43   with a loss of -0.033% percent or -9.63 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,953.82 up with +0.42% percent or +12.31 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,817.00 with a loss of -0.44% percent or -156.71 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,096.83  with  a loss of -0.76% percent or -54.29 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 11,469.52   with a loss of -0.62% percent or  -71.27 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,222.04 with a loss of  -0.32% percent or -16.67 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 371.52  with a loss of -0.57% percent or -2.12 point.

Wednesday’s Factors and Events

U.S. government debt prices were lower on Wednesday morning, as investors awaited another speech from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.

At around 5:30 a.m. ET, the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note, which moves inversely to price, was flat at around 2.6357 percent, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was higher at 3.0151 percent.

Powell will address the House Committee on Financial Services at 10 a.m. ET. Speaking on Tuesday, Powell said it is “beyond consideration” for the U.S. not to repay all of its debt. The remarks come at a time when Congress battles with a higher level of spending.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,577.48  with a loss of -0.71% percent or -11.32 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 975.84 with  a loss of -0.88% percent or ?8.69 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,916.18 with a loss of -0.88% percent or -16.94 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,228.50  up with +0.0098% percent or +0.12 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,653.73  with a loss of -0.16% percent or -2.71 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,550.13 with a loss of -0.12% percent or -1.86 point.
