Nasdaq Futures Opening Update as on 27 May 2019

U.S. stock futures lower  in pre-market trading for , May 27 The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,312.00  with a loss of -0.05% percent or -3.50 point.The Dow Futures is trading at 25,627.50 up with +0.03% percent or +7.50 point.The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,830.12   with a loss of -0.06% percent or -1.63 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world,  Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,182.58  up with +0.31% percent or +65.36 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,305.28  with a loss of -0.18% percent or -48.65   point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,887.71  up with +1.22% percent or +34.71  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 39,710.44 up with +0.70% percent or +275.72  point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,277.73  up with +0.65% percent or +46.69 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,067.77 up with +0.47% percent or  +56.73 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,325.54 up with +0.17% percent or +9.03 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 376.66up  up with +0.20% percent or +0.77 point.

Monday’s Factors and Events

“We still think the negotiators are going to reach a deal, but it’s clearly going to take a lot longer and be more difficult than investors thought a few weeks ago,” said Kate Warne, investment strategist at Edward Jones. “But any glimmer of hope that progress is being made will help stocks rebound.”

But Friday’s gains were not enough to offset this week’s losses. The Dow dropped 0.7% this week to post its fifth consecutive weekly decline, its longest streak since 2011. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq fell a third straight week of losses, their longest slide since December 2018. The weekly losses come at a time when investors are growing more convinced that the trade war will take longer than expected to conclude and could hurt the economy.

For the day The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,637.01  up with +0.11% percent or +8.73 point. the Dow is trading at 25,585.69 with a loss of -0.74% percent or -190.92 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,826.06 up with +0.14% percent or +3.82 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,514.11 up  with +0.85% percent or +12.73 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 917.54 up with +0.89% percent or +8.09 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,862.83  up with +0.50%  percent or +9.26 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,250.67  up with +0.11% percent or +1.36 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,663.36  with 0.21% percent or +3.46 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,564.78   up with +0.16% or +2.51 point.
