Nasdaq Futures Opening Update as on 08 July 2019

U.S. stock futures lower in pre-market trading for , July 08 The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,814.12   with a loss of -0.50% percent or -38.88 point.The Dow Futures is trading at 26,807.00  with a loss of -0.29% percent or -78.00 point. The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,982.88  with a loss of -0.25% percent or -7.62 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,534.35 with a loss of -0.98% percent or -212.03 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,287.67 with a loss of -1.69% percent or -487.16 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,933.36  with a loss of -2.58% percent or -77.70 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 38,884.70  with a loss of -1.59% percent or -628.69 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,557.06  up with +0.052% percent or +3.92 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,559.18  with a loss of -0.074% percent or -9.35 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,589.51 with a loss of -0.075% percent or -4.20 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 390.36 up with +0.06% percent or +0.24 point.

Monday’s Factors and Events

A weaker-than-expected figure could increase bets that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates at its meeting on July 30 and 31. The central bank opened the door to easier monetary policy last month by stating it will “act as appropriate” to maintain the current economic expansion.

Meanwhile, geopolitical tensions in the Middle East continue to dominate after the British Royal Marines seized a large Iranian oil tanker Thursday for trying to take oil to Syria in violation of EU sanctions, evoking fury in Tehran.

Oil prices were mixed in morning trade. U.S crude futures were down $0.48 at $56.86 per barrel, while Brent crude futures were up $0.28 at $63.58 per barrel. Both benchmarks were set for their biggest weekly declines in five weeks.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,575.62 up with +0.22% percent or +3.50 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 958.42 up with +0.37% percent or +3.50 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,965.95 up with +0.13% percent or +2.53 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,320.77 with a loss of -0.18% percent or -2.39 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,758.53  with a loss of -0.13% percent or -2.23 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,656.23 with a loss of -0.15% or -2.51 point.
