Nasdaq Futures Opening Update as on 27 February 2018

U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Tuesday, February 27. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,987.00  with a loss of -0.19% percent or -13.25 point.The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,779.50  with a loss of -0.18% percent or -5.00 point.The Dow Futures are trading at 25,734.00 with a loss of -0.09% percent or -24.00 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 22,389.86  for up with +1.07% percent or  +236.23 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 31,361.42  with a loss of -0.44% percent or  -137.18 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,292.07 with  a loss of -1.13% percent or -37.51  point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 34,336.98 with a loss of -0.32% percent or  -108.77  point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,298.52  for up with +0.12% percent or  +8.94 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,520.81  with a loss of -0.05% percent or  -6.23 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,357.72 for up with +0.25% percent or +13.47 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 383.11  with a loss of -0.04 percent or -0.01% point.

Tuesday’s Factors and Events

Pegasystems Inc would launch full-fledged sales operations in India, which has emerged as a “relevant” market with growth potential for the NASDAQ-listed technology firm, said a company official.

A formal announcement in this regard is expected shortly, Managing Director of Pegasystems India Suman Reddy told PTI.

The US-headquartered CRM and BPM software company, which has completed ten years in India, currently has two development centres in the country with a total headcount of 1,500 — Hyderabad (1,100) and Bengaluru (400).

 On the sales front, the parent company was focused on the Fortune 500 segment where it’s “entrenched” with global revenues expected to hit the USD 1 billion mark next year, he said.

Monday’s Activity

U.S. market were higher on Monday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 25,709.27 for up with +1.58% percent or +399.28 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,779.60 for up with +1.18% percent or +32.30 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 7,421.46 for up with +1.15% percent or 84.07 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,559.33 for up with +0.65% percent or +10.15 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 952.76  for up with +0.66% percent or +6.21 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,914.93 for up with +0.56% percent or +10.70 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,232.49 for up with +1.41% percent or +17.14 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,639.17 for up with +1.07% percent or  +17.43 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,537.06 for up with +1.11% percent or +16.85 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 25,709.27  for up with +1.58% percent or  +399.28 point.
