Nasdaq Futures Opening Update as on 28 March 2018

U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Wednesday, March 28.The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,504.25   with a loss of  -0.87%  percent or -57.00 point.The S&P 500 Futures are trading at  2,603.25 with a loss of -0.48% percent or  -12.50 point. The Dow Futures are trading at 23,762.00  with a loss of -0.41% percent or -97.00 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 21,031.31  with a loss of -1.34% percent or  -286.01 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 30,254.53  with a loss of  -1.74% percent or -536.30 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,122.31  with a loss of  -1.40% percent or  -44.34  point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 33,043.62 with a loss of -0.39% percent or  -130.77 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 6,956.14   with a loss of -0.63% percent or  -44.00 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 11,818.24   with a loss of -1.27% percent or  -152.591 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,057.35 with a loss of -1.14% percent or -58.39 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 364.30 with a loss of -0.85% percent or -3.15  point.

Wednesday’s Factors and Events

Cboe Global Markets said on Wednesday it will begin accepting end-of-day stock market orders on Aug. 20, pending regulatory review, as it tries to muscle in on rivals Nasdaq Inc and the New York Stock Exchange’s most lucrative trading period.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved Cboe’s new order type in January, despite strong opposition from Nasdaq and Intercontinental Exchange Inc’sNYSE, both of which appealed the decision, forcing the regulator to take another look at Cboe’s plan. The SEC has yet to announce a final decision.

 Tuesday’s Activity

U.S. market were lower on Tuesday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 23,857.71   with a loss of -1.43% percent or  -344.89 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,612.62 with a loss of -1.73% percent or -45.93 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,992.677,008.81  with a loss of -2.93% percent or  -211.74 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,513.57  with a loss of —1.95% percent or -30.15 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 927.86  with a loss of -1.68% percent or —15.89 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,851.75 with a loss of  -1.47% percent or  -27.71 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,143.74   with a loss of -1.82% percent or -21.23 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,549.02 with a loss of -1.74% percent or  -27.48  point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,449.36 with a loss of -1.73% percent or -25.45 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 23,857.71  with a loss of -1.43% percent or -344.89 point.
